India had made laws like the Bonded Labour Abolistion Act of 1976, which got later amended in 1985 which included contract and migrant workers, and the Central scheme for Rehabilitation of Bonded Labour, to prevent modern slavery. With it, under Art 23 forced labour is prosecutable by law.
