Set in the tumultuous period of India’s partition of Bengal in 1947, it follows the life of the story of Mohan (Ankur Armam) & Shabri (Surabhi Krishna) who is facing societal prejudices and escalating tensions between Hindus and Muslims due to politics of the town, where some politician wants to gain the power. Mohan, a London-educated man from a privileged background, returns to India and falls in love with Shabri, a woman from a lower caste, but they are denied to live together due to the obstacles arising due to the increasing tension where in hindsight, the country is getting free from oppression of the English, but also getting divided based on religion which can’t be stopped now.
