Srinagar Smart City Project- explained simply
Smart City Mission was launched by the Ministry of Urban Development (MoUD)Gol, where 100 cities had been selected for the purpose of urban renewal and building an infrastructure that provides a decent quality of life to the citizen of the state and has enough smart solutions to improve services and infrastructure. Now under which at Set 08, 2017, Srinagar Smart City Limited, a Special Purpose Vehicle ( SPV) had been included on Sep 08, 2017, under the Companies Act, 2013 governed by the Board of Directors with its Chairman, Administrative Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, J&K and in case of State Level High Powered Steering Committee (HPSC) for Smart City Srinagar. it is headed by the Chief Secretary, Government of J&K.
Why Balidan Stambh in Srinagar is significant?
For a long period of time, J&K is a hotbed of terror and separatist movements in India due to the India-Pak border conflict, which is the major cause of the many security forces martyrs with some citizen death. Balidan Stambh in Srinagar, set between Regal Crossing and Lal Chowk will add a tribute to those martyrs and increase the morale of the present Broder forces posted at J&K and Jammu and Kashmir police.
