The storyline begins by introducing Gauraiya’s family, including her father Rampal, mother, elder sister, and younger brother. It highlights the challenges they face in their difficult circumstances, struggling against poverty and societal inequalities.

“Gauraiya Live” is a film inspired by a real-life incident in Bhopal, where a young girl named Gauraiya faces a life-threatening situation after falling into a borewell. Directed and written by Gabriel Vats, the movie focuses on Gauraiya’s family, including her father Rampal, mother, elder sister, and younger brother, as they struggle to survive in difficult circumstances. However, instead of emphasizing Gauraiya’s fight for survival or the rescue efforts, the film sheds light on societal issues such as class divide, poverty, and the negligence of the powerful. Through its narrative, “Gauraiya Live” aims to highlight the hardships faced by the underprivileged and the failures of the rich and influential in addressing these issues. It underscores how those in power often try to cover up their failures by offering assistance, such as education and monetary aid, to the marginalized. However, despite its noble intentions, the film falls short in its storytelling and execution. The rescue mission feels rushed and is completed abruptly in the final minutes of the film. While Omkar Das delivers a performance as Rampal, torn between his love for his children and financial struggles, Ada Singh shines in her limited screen time as Gauraiya. Despite highlighting the plight of children in similar situations, “Gauraiya Live” lacks depth in its storytelling and could have benefitted from a stronger narrative. Overall, while the film carries an important message, a more compelling story and narrative would have elevated its impact.
